Review: SPUNK Pure Silicone Lube

Its got spunk! Its got style!

Spunk Lube, It’s a bit of an odd name but it makes sense when you realize the majority of their lineup is meant to replicate ejaculate in both colour and consistency. The pure silicone version I have is a little different though, It’s clear rather than white and it’s not quite as thick as the hybrid silicone lube offered by Spunk Lube but I think that’s just due to the nature of silicone lubes. I was sent the 236ml(8oz) bottle to review but Spunk Lube offer tiny 59ml(2oz) containers all the way up to 3.78L(128oz) jugs! The 236ml bottle stand about 19cm tall and is pure black with the logo written on the side in green, the top has a snap top lid and on the side of the container the logo is displayed prominently with product info and ingredients listed around back.

Front spunk lube label

Speaking of ingredients there are only 4 and my research didn’t find anything to be concerned about which is nice, You don’t have to worry about Glycerin, Parabens or other nasties with this lube. Often times companies will put sweeteners or flavour additives in to make the lube smell or taste better but these can cause bad reactions with certain people as well as generally not being the greatest thing to have slathered on your groin. If you are curious about what goes into lube and what you should look out for that information has already been compiled by people much more qualified than myself, Such as the Lorax of Sex in her post Adventure In Lube-Land.

Also worthy of mentioning is the interaction with Silicone lubes and various other materials, Generally speaking you do not want to use a silicone lube with silicone toys as the two materials react with one another and can cause damage to the toy, Although in theory if a toy is made from high-grade silicone and the lube is made from high-grade silicone there should be no interaction between the two, This hasn’t been entirely my experience but I do plan on doing some in-depth testing of this soon. Silicone lube is however completely compatible on Skin, Glass, Stone, Wood toys, and Latex Condoms

I don’t really know what I was expecting when I asked to try out a pure silicone lube, I guess I just expected it to be like water based lube but be slightly more resistant to drying out but I’m happy to report I was very wrong in that assumption.

Let me just say that this stuff is slick, Seriously Slick, Slapstick comedy sliding around the room slick and it’s wonderful. The first thing that really struck me as being significantly different with this opposed to water based lubes is that not once in using this have I ever had to reapply lube, It simply doesn’t dry out! 60+ minutes and it’s still as slick as when I first put it on. I decided to test how long it would actually take for the lube to start drying out or its performance started to dwindle, I put some on my skin and checked every 15 minutes and it took almost 4 hours before I noticed any significant change and even then I’m not sure if that was because the lube started to dry or because my skin started to absorb it, When it does start to dry as well it doesn’t go tacky either which is big plus!

While the lube is definitely thicker than most silicone lubes it was still fairly thin and the first couple times I applied it I ended up using way more than was required, Later I would realize that it wasn’t entirely because I poured too much out but that fact that you need so little of this stuff in use! A couple good-sized drops was all I ever needed for skin on skin sessions and for toys a little goes a very long way indeed.

Poor Danbo, Its raining Spunk!

Poor Danbo, Its raining SPUNK!

Spunk says that their pure silicone lube is odor and taste free, And I would agree but I wouldn’t recommend getting any in your mouth as it has a tendency to coat your mouth like a film of oil, which brings me to the topic of cleanup afterwards, All that non drying super slickness has to have some sort of caveat right? Well cleanup is where this lube gets a bit tricky, Silicone lubes are non water soluble which makes them amazing for playing around in wet environments like the shower or hot tub but it makes them incredibly hard to wash off. When it came to washing it off of skin I found a good bar of soap where I could apply force to the area really helped get all the lube off but when it came to toys I couldn’t really find a method that consistently worked in a timely manner, Just keep washing until you don’t feel any more lube.

Final Thoughts – Spunk Pure Silicone Lube

Overall I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by my first pure silicone lube, And by how different it felt and behaved vs water based lubes. Not having to reapply lube at all during a masturbation session was great, It felt somehow fancier than constantly having to reapply lube mid session. Using it with a glass toy was equally as satisfying providing an extremely slick surface to work with and easily became my favourite lube of choice when using the few glass toys I have.

The big negative with Spunk Pure Silicone and all pure silicone lubes is how hard they are to wash off when you’re done, So if you really dislike fighting with lube this might not be right for you, Personally I mostly use the lube just before or while I’m in the shower because then I’m already in the right place to properly clean everything off. But if you’re looking for a non drying, extremely slick lube I can whole heartily recommend Spunk Pure Silicone to be added to your lube collection. If you’re interested in picking some up you can do some directly from their webpage here.

Review: Tantus P-Spot

Tantus review time again! And this time I have my hands on another one of Tantus’s prostate toys, The P-Spot! But this ones a biggin’…Seems like thats a trend for me lately.

Packaging is typical Tantus fare with the toy being encased in a plastic clamshell wrapped in tastefully designed cardboard free of nudity and distasteful imagery.

And in this corner wearing matte black and weighing in at a staggering 305g its the Tantus P-spot! In the other corner cowering in fear, clutching a bottle of lube its my butt! The P-Spot is an intimidating looking piece of kit but once you get over its initial intimidation factor it’s really a well proportioned toy.

The entire toy stands just under 20cm tall and at its widest spans 4.3cm, making this toy no slouch in the size department. It’s a bit of a wonky looking toy overall as well, For lack of a better way of putting it the toy looks more like a utilitarian tool rather than something that immediately jumps out at you as intended to provide pleasure. In usual Tantus fashion the P-spot is made from their 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone and is incredibly high quality, The silicone used in the P-Spot is of the matte variety and feels extremely smooth and velvety to the touch.

Instead of a ‘tip’ the P-Spot has a large bulb on the end that slightly tapers into the rest of the toy but it does so at an angle, The rest of the toy is rather odd-looking, The shaft of the toy goes through several width changes throughout its length, Right underneath the tip of the toy is a flat section with two slightly angled sides, directly below that is an indented section with an upwards angle. The toys got a nice thick chunky base that makes it really stable standing up but it’s not overly large which makes it easy to hold if you need to, And adorning that base is the now all familiar Tantus logo.

Keen observers or people familiar with Tantus’s lineup may have realized that this toy looks a bit familiar to another toy offered by Tantus by the name of the G-Spot, And they would be right because the toys are actually identical in shape with only one major difference, The G-Spot has a receptacle for a bullet vibe on the bottom, A feature that is oddly missing from the P-Spot.

In Use

Initially I thought that I was going to have a really hard time with the P-Spot given its fairly large size and lack of any taper but I was very pleasantly surprised with how easy this toy was to insert and use, I’m not sure if that says more about the design of the toy or my bodies steady increasing ability to take larger toys.

After a sufficient warm up and a surprisingly small amount of lube the toy was very easy to work with, Even though the silicone is matte it becomes extremely slippery when lube is applied and is probably one of the slickest toys I’ve come across when in use. Because of the toys long length I was easily able to have a good portion of the toy slick with lubricant and still have plenty of toy leftover to hold on too.

Once inserted and comfortable the P-Spot started to show its true nature as a prostate seeking pleasure magnet, It effortlessly found its way to my prostate and immediately started seating it’s place in my collection as a new favourite for prostate massager. I’m not sure if its due to the large size of the head or the angle of the it’s placed at, Maybe its both but I’ve never had a toy find my prostate as easily as the P-Spot does. I worried when I first held the toy that the silicone wouldn’t be firm enough to offer strong enough prostate stimulation for me but I’m happy to report that my assumptions were wrong – very wrong, If you want light stimulation the P-Spot can deliver, If you want intense pressure and stimulation the P-Spot can deliver that too!

Pushing the P-Spot towards the prostate offers a really amazingly strong stimulation on the prostate, And due to the size of the toy it offers a great sensation of being full at the same time. If strong stimulation isn’t your thing all I needed to do to tone it down was put some pressure on the toy at an angle away from my prostate and it really cut down on the intensity of the stimulation. The orgasms I can achieve while using this toy are simply wonderful, And are the most powerful prostate orgasms I’ve ever had, This is the first toy that I’ve been able to manipulate well enough to really control the pacing and exact type of stimulation at my will. While the P-Spot certainly wasn’t cumbersome it also wasn’t exactly nimble either, A few times I had caught myself wishing the toy was a bit smaller and easier to maneuver.

Final Thoughts – Tantus P-Spot

If you haven’t been able to tell so far I love this toy, It now sits at the absolute top of my favourites list for prostate toys. I had less than stellar impressions with the Tantus ProTouch and mostly positive impression of the Tantus Prostate Play but that toy never really clicked with me, Finally I have a prostate toy that not only works for me, but actively makes me want to use the toy as often as possible. The only negative things I can say about the P-Spot is that sometimes it can feel a little unwieldy and that I require a warm up in order to use the toy, I love basically everything else about this toy, It’s a great size, Offers intense or mild stimulation, Its comfortable and it’s made of high quality silicone.

The P-Spot might not be a perfect fit for everyone though, I may love it but the size might simply be too much for many people and the firm silicone doesn’t offer much in the way of give either. If you find that direct prostate stimulation is too much for you and you prefer a lighter touch the P-Spot might not be exactly what you’re looking for either, In my case even though I could reduce the amount of stimulation I got from the toy it was still fairly intense.

Tantus really knocked it out of the park on this one for me, I’m almost infatuated with this toy for lack of a better way of putting it. It’s ticks all the right boxes and it gets my highest recommendation for someone looking for a medium to large sized prostate toy. If you’re interested in picking up the P-Spot you can buy it directly from Tantus at the link below or you can check out your favourite retailer.

Review: Hole Punch Toys Fluke

Whats that? I haven’t put out a review in how long? No no that can’t be right. It is? Well I apologize for my absence but rest assured this new review is no fluke! What? Ohh just read the review!

I love the simple packaging of the Fluke! It comes in a a plain cardboard tube wrapped in brown padded paper, Maybe it was because of the colours but the package reminded me of that impatient excited feeling you get after buying a nice piece of meat at the butchers (Or maybe that’s just me). On the one side of the tube is the label for the Fluke which has a very suburbia type feel to it. With no moving parts on any of the toys and the cardboard being very dense and sturdy you can rest assured that it will arrive to you unharmed.

Yet again I have another beautiful chunk of silicone on my hands, And what a hefty chunk of silicone it is! This cute and stocky looking thing is the Fluke! This one specifically is in the Miami vice colour which is a wonderful light and darker blue fade.

Fluke Side

The fluke is in a bit of an interesting place as far as design goes, I could see it being labeled as both a dildo or a plug, And even on the store page it’s referred to as a “plug-style piece” lending even more to it’s hybrid nature. The toy stands 14.6cm tall and 5.1cm in diameter (5 3/4″ and 2″ in imperial) so it’s no joke when it comes to girth and takes crown for widest toy in my collection so far.

Starting from the top of the toy it’s got a nice tapered tip that rapidly widens into the full width of 5.1cm at the coronal ridge. The shaft of the toy also has a taper to it and starts from around 4cm and narrows to 3cm at the bottom, right below that is the base which comes in at 6.5cm across which is a very reasonable size and shouldn’t pose an issue for those with small hands.

Underside of Fluke

The entire toy is cast from pure silicone meaning it’s easily cleaned and sterilized as well as being body safe, Hole Punch lists the Fluke as being made from soft silicone but in my experience I’m not sure that soft would be the adjective that I’d use – It’s certainly not hard like some Tantus toys but it’s not really soft either, the only thing I can think of when describing the feel of it is ‘bouncy’ but even that seems slightly wrong. The silicone is wonderfully smooth and matte but doesn’t have a lot of drag to it and the finish on mine is nearly flawless.

The Fluke has several aspects that lend themselves to being both artistic as well as semi realistic, The shape of the head is vaguely reminiscent of the head of a penis but has a very exaggerated and angular coronal ridge, where you would expect to find the urethral dent you instead find a raised ridge that continues from where the lines of the angular coronal ridge intersect, also worth noting is the rounded ridge that runs the length of the “underside” of the toy.

Ιn Use

After the first time I tried using the Fluke I came to the very quick realizations that 4.5cm of soft silicone is nowhere near close to 5.1cm of firmer silicone and that my butt is in fact not magic and  this would require a lot of work and effort on my part in order to give it a fair review.

After a heavily extended period of warm up and what felt like half a bottle of lube I managed to get the Fluke inserted without any discomfort, And what a feeling it was! Having the Fluke in was an incredibly intense feeling and unlike anything I’ve experience to date. The entire time it was inside I had an overwhelming sensation of being filled and of being stretched, At first I didn’t know how to react as I thought I might have inserted the toy too quickly and caused myself some pain or discomfort but when I calmed down I realized it was just the intensity of the sensation throwing me off.

Danbo With Fluke

Thank goodness the tip of the Fluke isn’t anymore blunt than it is, while it has a fairly aggressive taper the width of the toy is so large it still felt really abrupt. The angular coronal ridge I talked about earlier definitely came as a bit of a shock when I felt it going in, while the silicone is isn’t hard by any means the edged formed from the angular design felt like just that – an edge, and it sort of felt like it was digging into me as it passed through.

Those of you who both have prostates and like larger toys should get a wealth of enjoyment from the Fluke, Without any angling or help the Fluke already gives plenty of prostate stimulation but with a slight angle towards the prostate? It was like a battle between the unstoppable force and the immovable object and the aftermath involved massive prostate orgasms. Generally speaking I need really firm pressure on my prostate in order to orgasm from it, And with just a slight forward angle and a bit of wiggling the Fluke back and forth and it was in the sweet spot for prostate orgasms.

Fluke Tip

I found the Fluke too big to use adequately as dildo or thruster but as a plug it served very well, Due to the large size and heavy taper across the whole toy the Fluke sits very very securely, Not once in my using the Fluke did I ever feel like it was in danger of slipping or falling out – Heck I don’t think it even rotated slightly. The base while small is completely round it gets in the way of your butt cheeks, instead of resting between them it pushes them apart, this wasn’t a big issue for me though but I imagine it would be mildly annoying if you were trying to wear it beneath clothes.

Final Thoughts – Hole Punch Toys Fluke

My experience with the Fluke has been an interesting one, I love the design and the aesthetic of the toy and it can produce some powerful prostate orgasms and enhance regular ones but the toy requires so much work and warm up from me that it feels like a chore to use rather than a entirely positive experience, Not to say that it’s a bad toy, no not at all it’s just the kind of toy that seldom sees frequent use but you’re still glad you have it in your collection for when you feel like using it again.

If you really enjoy a sense of fullness and being stretched the Fluke should definitely be on your shortlist of toys to buy, And if you can handle the 5.1cm girth and you’re equipped with a prostate it can also deliver some powerful and almost effortless prostate orgasms. While I didn’t  overly enjoy the overly angular edge of the coronal ridge or the round base which had a tendency to get in the way they never detracted from the toy itself and my experience with those features are from a purely anal point of view and may not be an issue if used vaginally or by someone more experienced than I.

Hole Punch Toys offers the Fluke for $54USD which for a toy of this size and quality is a steal. If you are interested in picking up the Fluke or any of the other colourful and interesting offerings from Hole Punch you can do so here.

A big thank you to Hole Punch Toys for sending this out to me in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Review: Tails and Portholes Male Nereid

Dildo off the starboard  bow! Today I’m taking an in depth look at handmade creation that screams of character and charm.

About Tails and Portholes

Tails and Portholes is an Etsy shop that specializes in mermaid and mermaid themed items, In this case it’s a dildo but Brandie the store owner also offers items such as custom sea shells or even mermaid bras! Tails and Portholes is a home run business and between choosing what colours you want and the imperfect nature of homemade products the items offered have a very personal quality to them, While the products are homemade Brandie is constantly improving her methods and uses top notch materials in her creations. If you’re interested in checking out the store you can find it here, Brandie is also very active and involved in the community and can be reached at her twitter account here.

I received my package from Tails and Portholes before they had established a system for packing and shipping them, Mine arrived to me wrapped in a plastic bag that was slipped inside a bubble mailer, But if you order one now it comes in an appropriately sized unmarked brown cardboard box. Sadly I don’t have any photos of the newer packaging or my original packaging either but the dildo is pure silicone and should arrive to you in perfect health!

Look at it! Just look at it! When I was asked what colour I wanted my dildo to be all I said was “surprise me” and little did I know that I would get this glorious piece of silicone in the mail! And seemingly by magic Brandie knew that earth tones are my favourite and I got this lovely pale green an coppery brown mixture that I just adore.

The Male Nereid is a fantasy dildo but not to an extreme extent, It’s more like a semi-realistic dildo with some fantasy elements added in, Typically fantasy theme dildos tend to be on the larger side but I’m happy to report that the Male Nereid is a very reasonable size at 12.7cm of insertable length and 4.5cm diameter.

Looking at the Male Nereid from the “top” you would never really know that it’s a fantasy dildo but once you see the bottom you realize that this isn’t your average silicone penis, Along the back side of the dildo is a ridge of overlapping scales that run the entirety of the instertable length. The shaft of the toy has a nice curve to it and the thickness of the shaft isn’t consistent throughout with it being the thickest about 1/3rd of the way down from the tip of the toy, and speaking of the tip it’s worth mentioning that the Nereid has wonderful semi-realistic head with a clearly defined coronal ridge making this toy a really interesting mixture of fantasy and realism. Also included in the package is a suction cup base (No longer offered on orders) on the dildo but sadly mine doesn’t seem to work too terribly well, It’s enough to keep the dildo in place on a floor or other flat surface but not enough to hang it off a wall.

Beautiful colours aside the Nereid is made from not one but two densities of silicone, this is a handmade custom ordered dual density dildo! The outer section that you can touch and feel is wonderfully squishy and I’ve spent far more time that I would care to admit just staring and squishing this dildo for fun , At the center of the toy is a much firmer core that you can feel throughout about 2/3rds of the toy. The dual density core in mine is situated a little closer to the top smooth side of the dildo making that side feel a little bit harder than the back side with the scales.

There are some issues with the Nereid though, I received a very early copy of the toy before the owner had a vacuum chamber for removing air bubbles in the silicone so my Nereid is spattered with small bubbles and holes across various parts of the toy. Never did I feel like the bubbles or imperfections made the toy fragile or prone to breaking but the cavities can harbor bacteria and other nasties so extra attention while cleaning mine is an absolute must. With the addition of the vacuum chamber and a refinement of her process this shouldn’t be an issue for anything placing an order now but since they are present on my copy I thought it warranted mentioning.

Base Closeup

In use

I’ll be honest, the first time I tried this toy out I hated it but I’m really glad I kept an open mind and kept trying different things because I really do love this toy now.

After getting sufficiently warmed up and using a healthy dose of water based lube (Remember that silicone lube and silicone toys don’t mix) I inserted the dildo, The head felt great and immediately after getting the head in you’re greeted by that ridge of scales. While the scales are going in they feel wonderful and I didn’t expect them to feel as prominent as they are given how soft the silicone is, on the way out is where I encountered a problem, The tip of the scales on their way out felt really grabby and extremely unpleasant, It felt a like they were getting caught and pulling at my butt and was borderline painful.  All was not lost though as I kept at it after a few uses I just realized that there is no way I could thrust this toy with any speed, I could move the toy in at a reasonable speed but I had to go amazingly slow on the way out, We’re talking glacially slow here but that has its benefits as it really allowed me to focus on the texture and feel.

Nereid Profile

At the time of my first using it the Male Nereid was by far the girthiest toy I had used and it took a lot of time and practice for me to be able to use it comfortably, And of course a good helping of lube.  The Male Nereid gave me the biggest sense of fullness I’ve ever experienced with a toy, I never really considered myself a girth-aficionado before but this may have just converted me. Surprisingly given how filling the Male Nereid is I didn’t get a ton of prostate stimulation instead it was a nice constant pressure that made me feel very full along with the warm sensation I get with prostate play.

Nereid With Necklace

A necklace came with mine made from extra silicone during molding.

The base of the Nereid while not being that great as a suction cup is a great to hold while you’re using it, The soft silicone coupled with the small size of the base makes it really easy to get a solid and comfortable grip even with lube everywhere and never did my hand feel like it was cramping or getting tired from holding onto the base.

Final Thoughts – Tails and Portholes Male Nereid

Even though my original impressions were of extreme discomfort and borderline pain things really turned around once I started using the dildo a little differently.

Overall I really like the Male Nereid from Tails and Portholes but it’s not without it faults, Most of my major complaints have been fixed in the newer version of the toy though, The new version has a thicker base and should be air bubble free meaning cleaning won’t be as tedious.  While I do enjoy the full sensation it gives me getting to a point where I can comfortably insert a toy this wide is a lot of work for me and because of that this isn’t a toy I can use as frequently as I would like.

Issues aside the toy really feels great in use, even though I have to go really slow there was never a point at which I felt the toy was lacking in it’s ability to stimulate. Something about the Male Nereid just feels very comforting and welcoming, Maybe its the super soft and delightful silicone or maybe it’s because there is no other dildo like this but I’ve grown strangely attached to it and it now has a place among my favourites.

The real winning factor here though is the price! Tails and Portholes are selling the toy for only $55USD which is an amazing deal for such a beautiful handmade dildo. If you know that you can handle the 4.5cm girth or you’re  just looking for a nice easy stepping stone into the realm of fantasy dildos the Male Nereid is an amazing choice. If you’re interested in picking it up you can find it at their Etsy shop at the link below.

A big thank you to Tails and Portholes for sending this out to me in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Review: Tantus Silk Medium

Tantus once again offering us a silky smooth chunk of silicone! Anal safe, harness compatible and  all black! Check out my thoughts below.

Tantus packaging, Ohh Tantus, Thy packaging is wonderful. The packaging for the Silk like most of Tantus’s products is clean, simple and effective, The product is encased in a plastic clam shell that’s wrapped in printed cardboard. The Silk has no moving parts or fine details to be broken so rest assured it should arrive to you unharmed.

Tantus Packaging

The phrase smooth sailing comes to mind when looking at the Silk medium, the entire toy is devoid of any texture at all other than the inset Tantus logo on the base but that’s not a bad thing.  Because of the lack of texture and the smaller stature of the toy it makes the Silk a wonderful option for those looking for their first dildo, for either solo play or with a harness as the Silk lineup are all O-Ring harness compatible.

Cast from Tantus’s wonderful 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone the Silk Medium stands 13.3cm tall and 2.8cm in diameter, my specific Silk Medium is in black but it’s also available in purple and pink, Or if you’re feeling adventurous you could buy one from the Grab Bag program and possibly get a really funky and unique dildo.

Silk side

The Silk lineup are all about the smooth glossy silicone that Tantus has used and the curved shaft, Made from firm silicone the Silk Medium still has a decent amount of flexibility to but don’t expect too much in the way of the toy having much give to it. Interestingly enough I think this is the first time I have seen noticeable imperfections in the silicone on a Tantus toy, they don’t detract in any way from the use of the toy but along the base there are some ridges and wrinkles that I haven’t seen before on a Tantus product. The curve of the Silk combined with the general hardness of the silicone should make for excellent G-spot or prostate stimulation in use.

In Use

“Jack of all trades, master of none, Often times better than a master of one” Somehow the Silk Medium while being for all intents and purposes extremely plain manages to tick off so many positive boxes.

Using the Silk Medium feels like your meeting an old friend, Everything about it just seems comforting and relaxing, Insertion with the help of some water based lubricant is super easy and once it’s inserted nothing feels awkward of out of place, Everything just sorta works. I don’t get heaps of prostate stimulation from this but more than enough to know it’s there and hitting the right place, While the dildo has no texture the surface itself is a lot rougher than on the Charm 2 that I have previously reviewed and makes for some pleasant texture like sensations when thrusting.

Silk Wet

While I don’t have any photos I can assure you that the Silk Medium works great in a harness and can easily be orientated with the curve facing up or down based on your position and preference, One thing that both me and my partner really liked about it was that it wasn’t too long, My butt tends to really dislike anything over about 14cm (5.5″) in length and we were able to use it without fear of discomfort or pain no matter how intense things got.

The base is small enough to get a easy hold of for thrusting during solo play but it will require a hand to keep it pinned down when your riding it. Most of the sensations I get from this toy are centered around my anus with this toy, It’s not large enough to offer a stretching or filling sensation and while the tip does hit my prostate it’s not enough to make a significant difference in my orgasms.

Silk Timelapse

Final Thoughts

Tantus have succeeded in making a dildo that doesn’t fill a particular niche but it really doesn’t need to because it’s a perfect dildo for just having fun! It’s great in a harness, Pretty decent at prostate stimulation, A good thruster and it’s small enough not to intimidate people looking for their first toy. My only real complaint with the Silk Medium is that the Tantus logo needs some extra attention during clean up but that’s not saying much. The Silk lineup would be an amazing starting point for anyone looking to try out harness play, or for their first anal safe dildo. Tantus sells the Silk Medium for $44.92 but you can pick it up through the aforementioned Grab Bag program for a fraction of that really making this toy a no-brainer for anyone looking for a great multipurpose dildo.

A big thank you to Tantus who sent me this product to review in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Review: Pleasure Works Riley

Another day another Pleasure Works dildo, This time I have my hands and butt on the Riley which is a non realistic curved dildo with a slot for a vibrator. Time to get all riled up for the review!

The Pleasure Works Riley comes in  an identical box to the Charm 2 , It’s a bright and colourful cardboard box with measurements and easy to read information, The inside has no plastic packaging or other supporting structure but considering that the Riley basically a solid chunk of silicone it’s not an issue unless there is some sort of massive mess up in shipping.

The Pleasure Works Riley is a pretty standard looking affair for a dildo, The only really prominent features on the dildo are the fairly severe curve across the entire length and the smooth and bulbous head at the tip. Riley is not what I would consider a realistic dildo, There is no texture at all across the shaft and while the tip of the dildo is shaped like the glans of a penis it lacks finer details like a pronounced coronal ridge or a urethral opening.

My Riley is in this wonderful medium purple colour but it’s also available in a bright teal colour as well if the purple just doesn’t do it for you.  I actually had a bit of a hard time trying to get pictures of the Riley, Like the Charm 2 that I reviewed something about the colour of this silicone seemed to change constantly depending on the light.

Cast in firm pure silicone the Riley measures in at 16.5cm x 3.5cm across the majority of the length with it increasing to around 4cm diameter at the widest part of the head, The base is small and perfectly round and even people with small hands shouldn’t have an issue getting a grip on the toy in use, The base also makes it O-ring harness compatible. Along the very bottom of the base is the receptacle for a bullet style vibrator.

Pleasure Works are kind enough to include a waterproof single speed bullet vibe, It’s a little larger than the Tantus single speed vibe and while the vibrations are a little buzzy they are definitely stronger. I’m pretty sure that I just have horrible luck with these sorts of things because the first bullet vibe I received when I bought my Tantus ProTouch was defective and wouldn’t work at all and this one has a power button that is stuck on the entire time, In order to turn the vibe on or off I have to screw the entire cap on or off the back of the vibe which isn’t a huge deal but it’s annoying no less. The vibe is powered by 3 LR44 cell batteries which are easy to find should you need to replace them.

With the receptacle for the vibe in the bottom you would think that inserting and removing the vibe would be easy right? How very wrong that is, Because of the smooth silicone and lack of any sort of texture when you insert the bullet vibe into place it forms a seal so strong it defies reality, Every single Riley should come with a warning label that reads:

WARNING: Insertion of the included bullet vibe without prior application of lube will result in a vacuum seal. The seal created will be so strong no mortal being will be able to remove it, If this occurs you must first ask the dildo god for forgiveness and judiciously apply sacred lube,  Once the sacred lube is applied you must show the gods that you are worthy in a feat of extreme strength and if the gods deem you worthy they will allow for the removal of the vibrator.

This took me over 25 minutes to remove.

Even though the Riley looks fairly plain and unassuming my experience with it has been the polar opposite of plain, Definitely a case of looks being deceiving.

The heavy curve along with the bulbous head make the Riley probably the nicest dildo I’ve had the pleasure of using for thrusting, Mostly because regardless of what direction it was in or how fast or slow it was used it targeted my prostate like some sort of heat seeking missile. Every single thrust with the Riley seemingly have something to offer in terms of pleasure, My prostate requires quite firm pressure but the Riley was up to the task the whole time, If the curve was facing towards my front it would hit my prostate quite firmly but only for a second as it went past, If I flipped it the other way with the curve facing away it stayed nestled against my prostate with constant pressure which felt amazing.

At only 4cm at it’s widest this isn’t exactly a dildo for the girth-aficionados out there but due to the slimmer nature of the toy was an extremely easy affair to use, a healthy dose of your favourite water based lubricant and away you go! Most time I didn’t even need a warm up from another toy first as the tapered head of the Riley was more than adequate for easing into things, I did notice that like the Charm 2 the Riley tends to be a little lube hungry due to the type of silicone used, It’s smooth and shiny but also has a decent amount of drag to it.

Vibration wise the Riley was a little bit unimpressive for me, While the bullet vibe was stronger the other bullet vibes I have tried the vibrations were localized to the base and didn’t transfer it to head while in use – I couldn’t feel them at all. With the dildo inserted most of the way though you could definitely feel the vibe buzzing away and it did feel really nice, Made my whole anus tingle and feel warm but after a while it started to feel numbing rather than pleasurable.

After just a couple of uses the Riley quickly climbed near the top of my favourites list, Everything about it just seems to work with my anatomy and the feeling of it against my prostate was simply amazing. Riley isn’t without it’s issues though, the included vibe is fairly weak and nearly possible to remove without lube and I feel like if the vibe slot were to be removed and replaced with a suction cup I would enjoy it even more but that’s picking at straws because when it comes down to it the Riley is a great piece of silicone. It’s slender and smooth with just enough curve and a prominent enough head to offer a ton of pleasure. This has consistently become the go to toy for both me and my partner and it’s an easy recommendation to anyone looking for a dildo without much texture or girth. If you want to pick up the Riley you can do so from the Good Vibrations store for only $54.00!

Review: Tantus Prostate Play

Tantus time again! It’s almost like I have some sort of addiction but I can stop whenever I like…I promise. Addictions aside It’s time to take a look at the Tantus Prostate Play! Which is a funky looking little chunk of silicone with a bullet vibe that’s meant to perch against your prostate and vibrate away.

The Prostate Play comes in a remarkably large plastic clam shell style plastic package, while large enough to easily display all the relevant information I just can’t get over how large the package is for the relatively small nature of the toy because It really does seem like a waste of materials. Size aside the packaging should keep your toy safe till it’s arrival even if your postal service workers are the most brutal of savages (Looking at you Canada Post).

In box

First off I just wanna say one thing, whatever Tantus did with the silicone on this toy I want it applied to everything, my house, pets, people, everything! If waiting rooms had this stuff on the walls people would never be bored and everyone would rub the walls like some sort of disturbed Willa Wonka scene. I love everything about the silicone used on this toy, It’s still Tantus’s wonderful 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone but it’s got a satin finish that is so gloriously smooth and velvety that you just can’t help but touch it constantly.

The Prostate Play stands 12.5cm tall (14cm with the bullet vibe inserted) measures 2.8cm in diameter at it’s widest point and looks sort of alien in design. Curvy and extremely angular are a seldom mixed together but that’s exactly what went into the design of the Prostate Play, the main body of the toy is made up of two smooth and rounded lobes connected together and offset at a rather awkward looking angle, towards the base the curves and angles straighten out into a round shaft, Also prominently visible are the 4 raised rings towards the base of the toy which are on a slight upwards facing angle (More on that later).  Tantus once again realizing that people have butt cheeks and have designed a thin and rounded base to rest between your cheeks rather than dig into them, and on the front side of the base is a rounded perineum massager.

Tantus have included their 3 speed vibrating bullet with the Prostate Play, It’s around 8cm long so it’s a good 1/3rd bigger than Tantus’s regular single speed bullet vibe.  At the very bottom of the toy is the receptacle for the bullet vibe which with Tantus’s usual attention to detail has ridges all long the inside to insure the vibe doesn’t make a perfect seal an assures easy insertion and removal without the use of lube, Very nicely done Tantus.

In Use

Once at it’s final resting place it was almost like all the stars aligned, this is a prostate toy that doesn’t get in the way or poke where it shouldn’t everything just fell into place exactly like it should. With it fully inserted the top bulb rested gently against my prostate and provided light constant pressure, If I flexed my kegel’s I could draw the toy in further and make it push much harder on my prostate, same way you would use a manual prostate massager. But I just couldn’t get over how comfortable it was to wear, It was well mannered and polite for the entire time it was inserted due to the simply amazing base Tantus designed.

Vibrations from the included vibrator transfer reasonably well into the body and tip of the Prostate Play but sadly the vibrations overall are fairly weak and uninteresting  which translated into them not doing a whole lot for my prostate, Because of the removable nature of the vibe when it’s inserted into the toy it focuses most of the vibrations into the main shaft rather than the tip of the toy where you really want them. The vibrations definitely heightened my enjoyment of the toy and the higher speed on the vibe combined with flexing was the best use of the toy that I could find but no matter how much flexing or vibrations the vibe put out it never came anywhere close to giving me a prostate orgasm. The perineum massager  fell  short for me, While it didn’t really add anything to the experience it wasn’t uncomfortable or in the way at all, it’s a feature that I wouldn’t miss if it were gone but it may be of benefit to some – It also makes a decent handle for removal.

The Prostate Play is a relatively small toy but due to the shape of it I thought my first time inserting it was going to be like figuring out a wood puzzle but much to my surprise the tapered tip and fairly flexible neck made it very easy to insert (With a generous helping of water based lube of course). During the first insertion I was originally hesitant about the 4 ribs near the base as I’ve had experiences with other toys that had similar ribs and found them to be really uncomfortable but I was happy to be proven wrong in this time round, I think the fact they’re angled is what makes them so much more comfortable than my previous encounters, They also serve to help keep the toy inserted and not slide back out.

The Prostate Play really is a mixed bag for me because there are aspects I love like the wonderfully designed base and the quality and feel of the silicone but others I’m not so fond of like the weak vibrations and the mostly useless perineum massager but despite everything I really do like the Prostate Play! While it couldn’t bring me to a prostate orgasm it all by itself it turned a normal orgasms into powerful ones and the feeling of it vibrating and rubbing against my prostate during penetrative sex was wonderful.  Despite the positive experiences I  can’t help but think that the Prostate Play would really come alive with some stronger vibrations but as it stands it’s a great piece of silicone that most people would be happy to have in their collection. If you’re interested in picking up the Prostate Play you can purchase it directly from Tantus at the link below or check out your favourite retailers listings!

Review: Pleasure Works Charm 2

Charming little thing isn’t it? Simple looking and unassuming, Perfect for my first ever dildo review for the blog! I’m excited to see if the Charm 2 is as plain as it looks or if it runs off and becomes the center of attention at the grand ball.

The Charm 2 comes in a simple and brightly coloured cardboard box with a large picture of the toy on the front, And another picture on the back along with easy to read measurements. While not exactly discrete the packaging is really tasteful and displays all the relevant info you need. Inside the box the Charm was wrapped in a simple plastic bag, No other padding or packing material but the toys a solid chunk of silicone and barring some sort of massive foul up during shipping it should arrive to you safe and sound.

The Charm 2 is an all silicone harness compatible dildo from Pleasure Works, It stands 17.8cm tall and 3.2cm wide and has a gentle curve towards the top 1/3rd of the toy. Charm 2 is a uniform 13cm circumference throughout the length of the toy and despite how it looks the base is actually an oval shape with a circumference of 22.3cm – It’s a nice size and easy to hold on to. The silicone Pleasure Works decided to go with on the Charm 2 is a gloss silicone with a decent amount of drag and it’s a fairly firm silicone, Almost as firm as the regular Tantus silicone but not quite – It’s a good compromise between soft and firm.  I’m not sure if it’s just my copy but as you can see in the pictures there is some form of glitter or reflective material embedded into the silicone, It’s more noticeable in pictures than in person but it does give the Charm 2 some character. The colour of the Charm 2 is listed as “Merlot” but I found the colour of the toy completely depends on the light it’s in, Sometimes it looks like a really dark red and other times it looks nearly hot pink.

In Use

Due to the relatively draggy nature of the silicone used the Charm 2 took a fair bit more lube than what I would have expected  but once it was sufficiently slippery I had no issues inserting the toy. Being a consistent girth and having a rounded tip really make the Charm 2 easy to work with. At first I think I was expecting to much from the Charm 2 because I couldn’t really feel much of anything after I had it inserted but once I started to move it around I realized that this toy is really all about movement. I tried slow thrusting at first which was definitely pleasurable, The curved end combined with the relatively firm silicone caused it to brush past my prostate with light pressure on each stroke. Faster movement actually brought less enjoyment for me, I couldn’t feel it on my prostate at all with faster movements and overall It just didn’t feel as comfortable as slower more deliberate thrusting. The base is really easy hold on to and it’s a comfortable size but due to the oval shape it’s not overly comfortable between your cheeks. Riding the Charm 2 felt vastly different, It hit my prostate a lot harder, Not quite enough to bring me to a prostate orgasm but enough to give me that wonderful warm sensation I get from prostate stimulation. Due to the shape, easy to accommodate size and the harness compatible base this would be a great and affordable choice for pegging or general harness play.

The Charm 2 is the embodiment of the KISS Principle, Keep It Simple, Stupid.  The dildo is simple, well made and extremely well priced. The gentle curve is enough to offer a decent amount of pressure on the prostate without being hard to insert or overly aggressive, It’s not super girthy or textured and it doesn’t vibrate – It’s simple but it checks all the right boxes. The Charm 2 looks unassuming and simple but it’s a well crafted piece of silicone that shouldn’t be underestimated. I’d be quick to recommend the Charm 2 to someone for a variety of different kinds of play and  it’s low price tag it makes it even more appealing, This would make a great first dildo or starter dildo but if the size is a little to intimidating the smaller version of this toy known just as the “Charm” is a decent bit smaller at 14.6cm tall and 2.5cm wide. If you are interested in picking up the Charm 2 or the Charm you can find it at the link below and for only $42 It’s pretty hard to go wrong.

Review: Ride Bodyworx Water Based Lube

Riders on the storm, Into this house we’re born…Wait that’s not right. Ride Bodyworx? Yeah that sounds better. Ride Bodyworx is a new series of lubes with marketing aimed at men made by the seemingly “can do no wrong” folks over at Sliquid. Time to find out if Ride Bodyworx arrives at it’s intended destination.

Ride Bodyworx doesn’t come in any sort of exterior packaging so to speak other than the bottle itself. Visually the bottle is very appealing, It’s an all black container with a snap top lid and a matte finished label.  The symbol that they’ve chosen is a dragon, As a whole the labeling gives off a feeling a quality – Actually it looks like something you’d see in a upscale nightclub but maybe that’s just me.

Since Ride Bodyworx is made by Sliquid the ingredient list is short, safe, and mostly pronounceable which is always a good thing! No parabens or glycerin here, If you want to know more about lube in general and some of the ingredients in them there is a simply wonderful guide over on  the Lorax of Sex blog called  Adventures In Lube Land that I highly recommend everyone to read through.  Interestingly two of the ingredients in the lube are something you’re probably more used to seeing in your sushi dinner than in lube – Seaweed! Nori and Wakame are both listed under the ingredients, Their purpose there remain unknown to me but if anyone knows please let me know! My guess would be that it helps with the lube drying out or adds to the lubricity but I’m really not sure. The Ride series of lubes come in two different sizes the one I have here is the 125ml (4.2oz) size, It’s also available in a 255ml (8.5oz) size. If you would like to check out the full ingredient list check out the official product page here. Being a water based lube means that Ride is safe with basically any toy or orifice you would want to use a lube for, And the safe ingredients means it should have a better chance of working for those of you who have sensitivities.

In Use

Ride is middle of the road in terms of viscosity, It’s not what I would call watery but it’s certainly not thick like some gel lubes. It stay’s well enough to apply it where you want without running or dripping all over the place and it spreads easily. While slick the lube wasn’t so slick as to dull sensation, Especially for skin on skin stimulation but I did find that the lube had a tenancy to froth or foam quite a bit during use, Not a huge deal for me but may be an issue for some. When used on toys the lube lasted a quite a long time but when used on exposed skin it dried or got absorbed into the skin very quickly and I found myself having to reapply more often than I would have liked, But unlike a lot of other lubes when Ride dries it doesn’t go super sticky or leave a film and I sometimes found it hard to even see where it had been applied. Like most good quality water based lubes Ride is incredibly easy to wash off and doesn’t make my skin feel dry or itchy afterwards like some other lubes I’ve tried.

Overall I really enjoyed my experience with the water based version of the Ride Bodyworx lube, I don’t tend to use it very much for skin on skin stimulation as it dried out to quickly for my tastes. When using Ride on toy’s however it offers a really great balance between slickness, longevity and texture without making me feel like I was loosing any sensation, I didn’t find it quite as thick as I would like for anal play as it tended to get pushed out of the way rather than stay where you wanted it but you may have a different experience with that. To add the how well it worked with all the toys I tried it on it’s  extremely easy to clean up and didn’t leave any sort film or stickiness. I’m not a huge fan of the gender binary advertising that Sliquid seems to be using to promote the Bodyworx series but  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the water based Bodyworx to someone who’s looking for a good high quality lube that that’s Eco-friendly and easy on the skin.

Review: Tantus ProTouch

The Tantus ProTouch sounds a little but like the stance in a debate and looks a little bit like a unpainted prop from the lovable classic E.T. but in reality it’s a silicone prostate/g-spot toy that also vibrates! If you are not mentally scarred by the thought of a vibrating E.T. finger by now I urge you to read on.

I received the ProTouch from Tantus’s Grab Bag system which is an awesome and inexpensive way to purchase some great products from Tantus. Because the ProTouch was a grab bag item it didn’t come in the usual Tantus packaging, Instead it came in a plastic pouch sealed off at the top with a Tantus labeled cardboard logo sealed with a few staples – Simple and effective.

The ProTouch is an interesting looking toy, It’s clearly meant to replicate a human finger but after the second knuckle flares out into wider base and it’s cast in Tantus’s 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone. Overall the toy stands about 13cm tall but due to the curve it’s closer to 15cm from tip to base, The tip starts off at a very reasonable 7cm circumference and gradually progresses up to 11cm at the flared ridge right before the base. Along the bottom you’ll find a cavity that comes filled with a Tantus single speed vibrating bullet, The bullet vibe can be removed for cleaning or for attaching a suction cup to the bottom of the toy. In typical Tantus fashion the ProTouch is made from a very firm silicone but due to the thin nature of the toy it’s still quite flexible.

In Use

Now since I lack the parts I will be unable to review the ProTouch as a G-spot toy, This review is all about the prostate! It should be noted that because the ProTouch is made from silicone you should only be using water basted lubricants with it, If you really want to use a another typed of lube do a spot test first to ensure you won’t damage the ProTouch. With adequate lube the tip inserted very easy, The silicone Tantus uses for this toy is glossy and gets wonderfully slippery. Once the tip was in the rest of the toy slid in easy up to the narrow section right before the flared ridge, It was at this point that I decided to try the bullet vibe that the ProTouch came with only to realize that it was completely DOA, Even a fresh set of batteries couldn’t bring it to life and since I don’t have another bullet vibe I couldn’t test out the vibrations at all. With that sad realization behind me  I started to play around with the ProTouch some more but no matter how much twisting, prodding and thrusting was involved I simply could not get the ProTouch to connect with my prostate in any sort of meaningful way, Very brief and unsatisfying brushes was about the best I was able to manage. I also found that the ProTouch always wanted to twist or rotate from where I wanted it while playing, I had to constantly hold it in place otherwise it would spin round and face the wrong way.  Due to the relatively small size difference between the flared ridge and the rest of the base the ProTouch didn’t work as a plug either because it kept wanting to work its way out. Maybe with some sort of vibration I would have been able to feel the ProTouch more but in general my prostate needs very firm pressure that the ProTouch just wasn’t able to deliver. After a while I did come to appreciate the little ridge because that felt pretty good to pop in and out but  sadly it didn’t work as a prostate massager for me, Or a plug and due to the large curve it wasn’t particularly useful for thrusting either. The ProTouch sadly hasn’t seen much use from me, If I do use it during a play session it’s usually as a warm up for other toys.

Honestly I’m not sure how to sum up this review, It’s not like the ProTouch is poorly made or ill thought out, It just simply didn’t work with my anatomy, The bullet vibe not working was unfortunate but Tantus is usually known for their quality and I’m fairly sure that I just received an oddball that didn’t work – It happens. If you know that your prostate only requires very light pressure the ProTouch might work splendidly for you, Or if you’re simply looking for something that resembles a finger. For as much as it didn’t work for me I don’t regret picking up the ProTouch, It fills a needed size gap in my collection and makes a great warm up toy at the beginning of a session, I just don’t get any measurable pleasure from it. If you would like to pick up the Tantus ProTouch you can do so through the link below or at your favourite online retailer.
