Review: Tantus Silk Medium

Tantus once again offering us a silky smooth chunk of silicone! Anal safe, harness compatible and  all black! Check out my thoughts below.

Packaging

Tantus packaging, Ohh Tantus, Thy packaging is wonderful. The packaging for the Silk like most of Tantus’s products is clean, simple and effective, The product is encased in a plastic clam shell that’s wrapped in printed cardboard. The Silk has no moving parts or fine details to be broken so rest assured it should arrive to you unharmed.

Tantus Packaging

Overview

The phrase smooth sailing comes to mind when looking at the Silk medium, the entire toy is devoid of any texture at all other than the inset Tantus logo on the base but that’s not a bad thing.  Because of the lack of texture and the smaller stature of the toy it makes the Silk a wonderful option for those looking for their first dildo, for either solo play or with a harness as the Silk lineup are all O-Ring harness compatible.

Cast from Tantus’s wonderful 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone the Silk Medium stands 13.3cm tall and 2.8cm in diameter, my specific Silk Medium is in black but it’s also available in purple and pink, Or if you’re feeling adventurous you could buy one from the Grab Bag program and possibly get a really funky and unique dildo.

Silk side

The Silk lineup are all about the smooth glossy silicone that Tantus has used and the curved shaft, Made from firm silicone the Silk Medium still has a decent amount of flexibility to but don’t expect too much in the way of the toy having much give to it. Interestingly enough I think this is the first time I have seen noticeable imperfections in the silicone on a Tantus toy, they don’t detract in any way from the use of the toy but along the base there are some ridges and wrinkles that I haven’t seen before on a Tantus product. The curve of the Silk combined with the general hardness of the silicone should make for excellent G-spot or prostate stimulation in use.

In Use

“Jack of all trades, master of none, Often times better than a master of one” Somehow the Silk Medium while being for all intents and purposes extremely plain manages to tick off so many positive boxes.

Using the Silk Medium feels like your meeting an old friend, Everything about it just seems comforting and relaxing, Insertion with the help of some water based lubricant is super easy and once it’s inserted nothing feels awkward of out of place, Everything just sorta works. I don’t get heaps of prostate stimulation from this but more than enough to know it’s there and hitting the right place, While the dildo has no texture the surface itself is a lot rougher than on the Charm 2 that I have previously reviewed and makes for some pleasant texture like sensations when thrusting.

Silk Wet

While I don’t have any photos I can assure you that the Silk Medium works great in a harness and can easily be orientated with the curve facing up or down based on your position and preference, One thing that both me and my partner really liked about it was that it wasn’t too long, My butt tends to really dislike anything over about 14cm (5.5″) in length and we were able to use it without fear of discomfort or pain no matter how intense things got.

The base is small enough to get a easy hold of for thrusting during solo play but it will require a hand to keep it pinned down when your riding it. Most of the sensations I get from this toy are centered around my anus with this toy, It’s not large enough to offer a stretching or filling sensation and while the tip does hit my prostate it’s not enough to make a significant difference in my orgasms.

Silk Timelapse

Final Thoughts

Tantus have succeeded in making a dildo that doesn’t fill a particular niche but it really doesn’t need to because it’s a perfect dildo for just having fun! It’s great in a harness, Pretty decent at prostate stimulation, A good thruster and it’s small enough not to intimidate people looking for their first toy. My only real complaint with the Silk Medium is that the Tantus logo needs some extra attention during clean up but that’s not saying much. The Silk lineup would be an amazing starting point for anyone looking to try out harness play, or for their first anal safe dildo. Tantus sells the Silk Medium for $44.92 but you can pick it up through the aforementioned Grab Bag program for a fraction of that really making this toy a no-brainer for anyone looking for a great multipurpose dildo.

A big thank you to Tantus who sent me this product to review in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Review: Pleasure Works Riley

Another day another Pleasure Works dildo, This time I have my hands and butt on the Riley which is a non realistic curved dildo with a slot for a vibrator. Time to get all riled up for the review!

Packaging

The Pleasure Works Riley comes in  an identical box to the Charm 2 , It’s a bright and colourful cardboard box with measurements and easy to read information, The inside has no plastic packaging or other supporting structure but considering that the Riley basically a solid chunk of silicone it’s not an issue unless there is some sort of massive mess up in shipping.

Overview

The Pleasure Works Riley is a pretty standard looking affair for a dildo, The only really prominent features on the dildo are the fairly severe curve across the entire length and the smooth and bulbous head at the tip. Riley is not what I would consider a realistic dildo, There is no texture at all across the shaft and while the tip of the dildo is shaped like the glans of a penis it lacks finer details like a pronounced coronal ridge or a urethral opening.

My Riley is in this wonderful medium purple colour but it’s also available in a bright teal colour as well if the purple just doesn’t do it for you.  I actually had a bit of a hard time trying to get pictures of the Riley, Like the Charm 2 that I reviewed something about the colour of this silicone seemed to change constantly depending on the light.

Cast in firm pure silicone the Riley measures in at 16.5cm x 3.5cm across the majority of the length with it increasing to around 4cm diameter at the widest part of the head, The base is small and perfectly round and even people with small hands shouldn’t have an issue getting a grip on the toy in use, The base also makes it O-ring harness compatible. Along the very bottom of the base is the receptacle for a bullet style vibrator.

Pleasure Works are kind enough to include a waterproof single speed bullet vibe, It’s a little larger than the Tantus single speed vibe and while the vibrations are a little buzzy they are definitely stronger. I’m pretty sure that I just have horrible luck with these sorts of things because the first bullet vibe I received when I bought my Tantus ProTouch was defective and wouldn’t work at all and this one has a power button that is stuck on the entire time, In order to turn the vibe on or off I have to screw the entire cap on or off the back of the vibe which isn’t a huge deal but it’s annoying no less. The vibe is powered by 3 LR44 cell batteries which are easy to find should you need to replace them.

With the receptacle for the vibe in the bottom you would think that inserting and removing the vibe would be easy right? How very wrong that is, Because of the smooth silicone and lack of any sort of texture when you insert the bullet vibe into place it forms a seal so strong it defies reality, Every single Riley should come with a warning label that reads:

WARNING: Insertion of the included bullet vibe without prior application of lube will result in a vacuum seal. The seal created will be so strong no mortal being will be able to remove it, If this occurs you must first ask the dildo god for forgiveness and judiciously apply sacred lube,  Once the sacred lube is applied you must show the gods that you are worthy in a feat of extreme strength and if the gods deem you worthy they will allow for the removal of the vibrator.

This took me over 25 minutes to remove.

In Use

Even though the Riley looks fairly plain and unassuming my experience with it has been the polar opposite of plain, Definitely a case of looks being deceiving.

The heavy curve along with the bulbous head make the Riley probably the nicest dildo I’ve had the pleasure of using for thrusting, Mostly because regardless of what direction it was in or how fast or slow it was used it targeted my prostate like some sort of heat seeking missile. Every single thrust with the Riley seemingly have something to offer in terms of pleasure, My prostate requires quite firm pressure but the Riley was up to the task the whole time, If the curve was facing towards my front it would hit my prostate quite firmly but only for a second as it went past, If I flipped it the other way with the curve facing away it stayed nestled against my prostate with constant pressure which felt amazing.

At only 4cm at it’s widest this isn’t exactly a dildo for the girth-aficionados out there but due to the slimmer nature of the toy was an extremely easy affair to use, a healthy dose of your favourite water based lubricant and away you go! Most time I didn’t even need a warm up from another toy first as the tapered head of the Riley was more than adequate for easing into things, I did notice that like the Charm 2 the Riley tends to be a little lube hungry due to the type of silicone used, It’s smooth and shiny but also has a decent amount of drag to it.

Vibration wise the Riley was a little bit unimpressive for me, While the bullet vibe was stronger the other bullet vibes I have tried the vibrations were localized to the base and didn’t transfer it to head while in use – I couldn’t feel them at all. With the dildo inserted most of the way though you could definitely feel the vibe buzzing away and it did feel really nice, Made my whole anus tingle and feel warm but after a while it started to feel numbing rather than pleasurable.

Conclusions

After just a couple of uses the Riley quickly climbed near the top of my favourites list, Everything about it just seems to work with my anatomy and the feeling of it against my prostate was simply amazing. Riley isn’t without it’s issues though, the included vibe is fairly weak and nearly possible to remove without lube and I feel like if the vibe slot were to be removed and replaced with a suction cup I would enjoy it even more but that’s picking at straws because when it comes down to it the Riley is a great piece of silicone. It’s slender and smooth with just enough curve and a prominent enough head to offer a ton of pleasure. This has consistently become the go to toy for both me and my partner and it’s an easy recommendation to anyone looking for a dildo without much texture or girth. If you want to pick up the Riley you can do so from the Good Vibrations store for only $54.00!

Review: Tantus Prostate Play

Tantus time again! It’s almost like I have some sort of addiction but I can stop whenever I like…I promise. Addictions aside It’s time to take a look at the Tantus Prostate Play! Which is a funky looking little chunk of silicone with a bullet vibe that’s meant to perch against your prostate and vibrate away.

Packaging

The Prostate Play comes in a remarkably large plastic clam shell style plastic package, while large enough to easily display all the relevant information I just can’t get over how large the package is for the relatively small nature of the toy because It really does seem like a waste of materials. Size aside the packaging should keep your toy safe till it’s arrival even if your postal service workers are the most brutal of savages (Looking at you Canada Post).

In box

Overview

First off I just wanna say one thing, whatever Tantus did with the silicone on this toy I want it applied to everything, my house, pets, people, everything! If waiting rooms had this stuff on the walls people would never be bored and everyone would rub the walls like some sort of disturbed Willa Wonka scene. I love everything about the silicone used on this toy, It’s still Tantus’s wonderful 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone but it’s got a satin finish that is so gloriously smooth and velvety that you just can’t help but touch it constantly.

The Prostate Play stands 12.5cm tall (14cm with the bullet vibe inserted) measures 2.8cm in diameter at it’s widest point and looks sort of alien in design. Curvy and extremely angular are a seldom mixed together but that’s exactly what went into the design of the Prostate Play, the main body of the toy is made up of two smooth and rounded lobes connected together and offset at a rather awkward looking angle, towards the base the curves and angles straighten out into a round shaft, Also prominently visible are the 4 raised rings towards the base of the toy which are on a slight upwards facing angle (More on that later).  Tantus once again realizing that people have butt cheeks and have designed a thin and rounded base to rest between your cheeks rather than dig into them, and on the front side of the base is a rounded perineum massager.

Tantus have included their 3 speed vibrating bullet with the Prostate Play, It’s around 8cm long so it’s a good 1/3rd bigger than Tantus’s regular single speed bullet vibe.  At the very bottom of the toy is the receptacle for the bullet vibe which with Tantus’s usual attention to detail has ridges all long the inside to insure the vibe doesn’t make a perfect seal an assures easy insertion and removal without the use of lube, Very nicely done Tantus.

In Use

Once at it’s final resting place it was almost like all the stars aligned, this is a prostate toy that doesn’t get in the way or poke where it shouldn’t everything just fell into place exactly like it should. With it fully inserted the top bulb rested gently against my prostate and provided light constant pressure, If I flexed my kegel’s I could draw the toy in further and make it push much harder on my prostate, same way you would use a manual prostate massager. But I just couldn’t get over how comfortable it was to wear, It was well mannered and polite for the entire time it was inserted due to the simply amazing base Tantus designed.

Vibrations from the included vibrator transfer reasonably well into the body and tip of the Prostate Play but sadly the vibrations overall are fairly weak and uninteresting  which translated into them not doing a whole lot for my prostate, Because of the removable nature of the vibe when it’s inserted into the toy it focuses most of the vibrations into the main shaft rather than the tip of the toy where you really want them. The vibrations definitely heightened my enjoyment of the toy and the higher speed on the vibe combined with flexing was the best use of the toy that I could find but no matter how much flexing or vibrations the vibe put out it never came anywhere close to giving me a prostate orgasm. The perineum massager  fell  short for me, While it didn’t really add anything to the experience it wasn’t uncomfortable or in the way at all, it’s a feature that I wouldn’t miss if it were gone but it may be of benefit to some – It also makes a decent handle for removal.

The Prostate Play is a relatively small toy but due to the shape of it I thought my first time inserting it was going to be like figuring out a wood puzzle but much to my surprise the tapered tip and fairly flexible neck made it very easy to insert (With a generous helping of water based lube of course). During the first insertion I was originally hesitant about the 4 ribs near the base as I’ve had experiences with other toys that had similar ribs and found them to be really uncomfortable but I was happy to be proven wrong in this time round, I think the fact they’re angled is what makes them so much more comfortable than my previous encounters, They also serve to help keep the toy inserted and not slide back out.

Conclusions

The Prostate Play really is a mixed bag for me because there are aspects I love like the wonderfully designed base and the quality and feel of the silicone but others I’m not so fond of like the weak vibrations and the mostly useless perineum massager but despite everything I really do like the Prostate Play! While it couldn’t bring me to a prostate orgasm it all by itself it turned a normal orgasms into powerful ones and the feeling of it vibrating and rubbing against my prostate during penetrative sex was wonderful.  Despite the positive experiences I  can’t help but think that the Prostate Play would really come alive with some stronger vibrations but as it stands it’s a great piece of silicone that most people would be happy to have in their collection. If you’re interested in picking up the Prostate Play you can purchase it directly from Tantus at the link below or check out your favourite retailers listings!

Review: Pleasure Works Charm 2

Charming little thing isn’t it? Simple looking and unassuming, Perfect for my first ever dildo review for the blog! I’m excited to see if the Charm 2 is as plain as it looks or if it runs off and becomes the center of attention at the grand ball.

Packaging

The Charm 2 comes in a simple and brightly coloured cardboard box with a large picture of the toy on the front, And another picture on the back along with easy to read measurements. While not exactly discrete the packaging is really tasteful and displays all the relevant info you need. Inside the box the Charm was wrapped in a simple plastic bag, No other padding or packing material but the toys a solid chunk of silicone and barring some sort of massive foul up during shipping it should arrive to you safe and sound.

Overview

The Charm 2 is an all silicone harness compatible dildo from Pleasure Works, It stands 17.8cm tall and 3.2cm wide and has a gentle curve towards the top 1/3rd of the toy. Charm 2 is a uniform 13cm circumference throughout the length of the toy and despite how it looks the base is actually an oval shape with a circumference of 22.3cm – It’s a nice size and easy to hold on to. The silicone Pleasure Works decided to go with on the Charm 2 is a gloss silicone with a decent amount of drag and it’s a fairly firm silicone, Almost as firm as the regular Tantus silicone but not quite – It’s a good compromise between soft and firm.  I’m not sure if it’s just my copy but as you can see in the pictures there is some form of glitter or reflective material embedded into the silicone, It’s more noticeable in pictures than in person but it does give the Charm 2 some character. The colour of the Charm 2 is listed as “Merlot” but I found the colour of the toy completely depends on the light it’s in, Sometimes it looks like a really dark red and other times it looks nearly hot pink.

In Use

Due to the relatively draggy nature of the silicone used the Charm 2 took a fair bit more lube than what I would have expected  but once it was sufficiently slippery I had no issues inserting the toy. Being a consistent girth and having a rounded tip really make the Charm 2 easy to work with. At first I think I was expecting to much from the Charm 2 because I couldn’t really feel much of anything after I had it inserted but once I started to move it around I realized that this toy is really all about movement. I tried slow thrusting at first which was definitely pleasurable, The curved end combined with the relatively firm silicone caused it to brush past my prostate with light pressure on each stroke. Faster movement actually brought less enjoyment for me, I couldn’t feel it on my prostate at all with faster movements and overall It just didn’t feel as comfortable as slower more deliberate thrusting. The base is really easy hold on to and it’s a comfortable size but due to the oval shape it’s not overly comfortable between your cheeks. Riding the Charm 2 felt vastly different, It hit my prostate a lot harder, Not quite enough to bring me to a prostate orgasm but enough to give me that wonderful warm sensation I get from prostate stimulation. Due to the shape, easy to accommodate size and the harness compatible base this would be a great and affordable choice for pegging or general harness play.

Conclusions

The Charm 2 is the embodiment of the KISS Principle, Keep It Simple, Stupid.  The dildo is simple, well made and extremely well priced. The gentle curve is enough to offer a decent amount of pressure on the prostate without being hard to insert or overly aggressive, It’s not super girthy or textured and it doesn’t vibrate – It’s simple but it checks all the right boxes. The Charm 2 looks unassuming and simple but it’s a well crafted piece of silicone that shouldn’t be underestimated. I’d be quick to recommend the Charm 2 to someone for a variety of different kinds of play and  it’s low price tag it makes it even more appealing, This would make a great first dildo or starter dildo but if the size is a little to intimidating the smaller version of this toy known just as the “Charm” is a decent bit smaller at 14.6cm tall and 2.5cm wide. If you are interested in picking up the Charm 2 or the Charm you can find it at the link below and for only $42 It’s pretty hard to go wrong.

Review: Ride Bodyworx Water Based Lube

Riders on the storm, Into this house we’re born…Wait that’s not right. Ride Bodyworx? Yeah that sounds better. Ride Bodyworx is a new series of lubes with marketing aimed at men made by the seemingly “can do no wrong” folks over at Sliquid. Time to find out if Ride Bodyworx arrives at it’s intended destination.

Packaging

Ride Bodyworx doesn’t come in any sort of exterior packaging so to speak other than the bottle itself. Visually the bottle is very appealing, It’s an all black container with a snap top lid and a matte finished label.  The symbol that they’ve chosen is a dragon, As a whole the labeling gives off a feeling a quality – Actually it looks like something you’d see in a upscale nightclub but maybe that’s just me.

Overview

Since Ride Bodyworx is made by Sliquid the ingredient list is short, safe, and mostly pronounceable which is always a good thing! No parabens or glycerin here, If you want to know more about lube in general and some of the ingredients in them there is a simply wonderful guide over on  the Lorax of Sex blog called  Adventures In Lube Land that I highly recommend everyone to read through.  Interestingly two of the ingredients in the lube are something you’re probably more used to seeing in your sushi dinner than in lube – Seaweed! Nori and Wakame are both listed under the ingredients, Their purpose there remain unknown to me but if anyone knows please let me know! My guess would be that it helps with the lube drying out or adds to the lubricity but I’m really not sure. The Ride series of lubes come in two different sizes the one I have here is the 125ml (4.2oz) size, It’s also available in a 255ml (8.5oz) size. If you would like to check out the full ingredient list check out the official product page here. Being a water based lube means that Ride is safe with basically any toy or orifice you would want to use a lube for, And the safe ingredients means it should have a better chance of working for those of you who have sensitivities.

In Use

Ride is middle of the road in terms of viscosity, It’s not what I would call watery but it’s certainly not thick like some gel lubes. It stay’s well enough to apply it where you want without running or dripping all over the place and it spreads easily. While slick the lube wasn’t so slick as to dull sensation, Especially for skin on skin stimulation but I did find that the lube had a tenancy to froth or foam quite a bit during use, Not a huge deal for me but may be an issue for some. When used on toys the lube lasted a quite a long time but when used on exposed skin it dried or got absorbed into the skin very quickly and I found myself having to reapply more often than I would have liked, But unlike a lot of other lubes when Ride dries it doesn’t go super sticky or leave a film and I sometimes found it hard to even see where it had been applied. Like most good quality water based lubes Ride is incredibly easy to wash off and doesn’t make my skin feel dry or itchy afterwards like some other lubes I’ve tried.

Conclusions

Overall I really enjoyed my experience with the water based version of the Ride Bodyworx lube, I don’t tend to use it very much for skin on skin stimulation as it dried out to quickly for my tastes. When using Ride on toy’s however it offers a really great balance between slickness, longevity and texture without making me feel like I was loosing any sensation, I didn’t find it quite as thick as I would like for anal play as it tended to get pushed out of the way rather than stay where you wanted it but you may have a different experience with that. To add the how well it worked with all the toys I tried it on it’s  extremely easy to clean up and didn’t leave any sort film or stickiness. I’m not a huge fan of the gender binary advertising that Sliquid seems to be using to promote the Bodyworx series but  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the water based Bodyworx to someone who’s looking for a good high quality lube that that’s Eco-friendly and easy on the skin.

Review: Tantus ProTouch

The Tantus ProTouch sounds a little but like the stance in a debate and looks a little bit like a unpainted prop from the lovable classic E.T. but in reality it’s a silicone prostate/g-spot toy that also vibrates! If you are not mentally scarred by the thought of a vibrating E.T. finger by now I urge you to read on.

Packaging

I received the ProTouch from Tantus’s Grab Bag system which is an awesome and inexpensive way to purchase some great products from Tantus. Because the ProTouch was a grab bag item it didn’t come in the usual Tantus packaging, Instead it came in a plastic pouch sealed off at the top with a Tantus labeled cardboard logo sealed with a few staples – Simple and effective.

Overview

The ProTouch is an interesting looking toy, It’s clearly meant to replicate a human finger but after the second knuckle flares out into wider base and it’s cast in Tantus’s 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone. Overall the toy stands about 13cm tall but due to the curve it’s closer to 15cm from tip to base, The tip starts off at a very reasonable 7cm circumference and gradually progresses up to 11cm at the flared ridge right before the base. Along the bottom you’ll find a cavity that comes filled with a Tantus single speed vibrating bullet, The bullet vibe can be removed for cleaning or for attaching a suction cup to the bottom of the toy. In typical Tantus fashion the ProTouch is made from a very firm silicone but due to the thin nature of the toy it’s still quite flexible.

In Use

Now since I lack the parts I will be unable to review the ProTouch as a G-spot toy, This review is all about the prostate! It should be noted that because the ProTouch is made from silicone you should only be using water basted lubricants with it, If you really want to use a another typed of lube do a spot test first to ensure you won’t damage the ProTouch. With adequate lube the tip inserted very easy, The silicone Tantus uses for this toy is glossy and gets wonderfully slippery. Once the tip was in the rest of the toy slid in easy up to the narrow section right before the flared ridge, It was at this point that I decided to try the bullet vibe that the ProTouch came with only to realize that it was completely DOA, Even a fresh set of batteries couldn’t bring it to life and since I don’t have another bullet vibe I couldn’t test out the vibrations at all. With that sad realization behind me  I started to play around with the ProTouch some more but no matter how much twisting, prodding and thrusting was involved I simply could not get the ProTouch to connect with my prostate in any sort of meaningful way, Very brief and unsatisfying brushes was about the best I was able to manage. I also found that the ProTouch always wanted to twist or rotate from where I wanted it while playing, I had to constantly hold it in place otherwise it would spin round and face the wrong way.  Due to the relatively small size difference between the flared ridge and the rest of the base the ProTouch didn’t work as a plug either because it kept wanting to work its way out. Maybe with some sort of vibration I would have been able to feel the ProTouch more but in general my prostate needs very firm pressure that the ProTouch just wasn’t able to deliver. After a while I did come to appreciate the little ridge because that felt pretty good to pop in and out but  sadly it didn’t work as a prostate massager for me, Or a plug and due to the large curve it wasn’t particularly useful for thrusting either. The ProTouch sadly hasn’t seen much use from me, If I do use it during a play session it’s usually as a warm up for other toys.

Conclusions

Honestly I’m not sure how to sum up this review, It’s not like the ProTouch is poorly made or ill thought out, It just simply didn’t work with my anatomy, The bullet vibe not working was unfortunate but Tantus is usually known for their quality and I’m fairly sure that I just received an oddball that didn’t work – It happens. If you know that your prostate only requires very light pressure the ProTouch might work splendidly for you, Or if you’re simply looking for something that resembles a finger. For as much as it didn’t work for me I don’t regret picking up the ProTouch, It fills a needed size gap in my collection and makes a great warm up toy at the beginning of a session, I just don’t get any measurable pleasure from it. If you would like to pick up the Tantus ProTouch you can do so through the link below or at your favourite online retailer.

Review: Hot Octopuss Pulse II Solo

Hot Octopuss Pulse II Solo, Cephalopod references and male sex toys!? Odd name but let’s not judge a toy by what  it’s called, Amidst an expanding field of male vibrators the Pulse series by Hot Octopuss differentiate themselves by offering a toy that delivers oscillations instead of vibrations, Will it blend? Does it work?

Packaging

The Pulse II Solo comes in a very nicely printed cover box that should offer ample protection for your investment during shipping. Inside of the box the Pulse is cradled in a plastic molded tray along with the USB charging cable and a user manual, Oddly enough my Pulse came with two user manuals and two charging cables.

I still cringe every time I see the word “Guybrator”

Overview

The Pulse II Solo is a relatively small little toy that comes in around 12cm tall and 7cm wide, The back side of the toy is made from ABS plastic and the front side is made from silicone. Three buttons are all the input options you get, A multifunction power button on the left side and two intensity adjustment buttons on the right side. Charging is handled by the supplied USB cable  the port is on the bottom of the toy behind a small flap in the silicone, Hidden  just above the charging port is a status LED for charging, Red for charging and green for charged. Hot Octopuss labels the Pulse II Solo as 100% waterproof but since I can’t tell if it’s only that flap or if the charging port itself is sealed away from moisture I wouldn’t recommend full submersion as the flap doesn’t inspire confidence. On the top side of the Pulse there are two flexible wings to hold yourself in the channel, right below the wings is where the action happens, There is a raised platform about the size of a toonie that acts as the delivery point for all the vibrations/oscillations. The Pulse feels very well put together for a toy in this price range, It has a good weight and doesn’t feel hollow or cheap, although there is an area of silicone that has a very odd texture that almost looks like residue on my copy that no amount of cleaning seems to rid – You can see it right above the Hot Octopuss branding.

In Use

There are actually a couple of different ways you can start using the Pulse II Solo, If you already have an erection you can fold the two flaps back and insert yourself into the toy or you can slide yourself in from the bottom with some lube (The Pulse is designed to be used with and without lube). If you’d rather have the experience of getting hard in the  toy you can slide yourself in from the bottom.  After you turn the toy on the power button turns into the vibration pattern switch,  Single clicks will scroll through the 5 different vibration patterns and then back to constant vibrations.  Two things were immediately apparent after turning the Pulse  on, The first was that even on a low setting it felt amazing and because it uses oscillations not vibrations it felt totally different to other toys like the Cobra Libre, The second thing is that this toy is LOUD, Very loud. The noise from the Pulse can almost be forgiven as the sensations it produces are simply wonderful, It feels like a really soft jack hammer pounding away on your cock and with absolutely no buzz just driving rumbly vibrations.

After a few minutes using the Pulse I quickly began to realize something that I had been an inkling in my head for a little while, My frenulum isn’t nearly as sensitive as most men. Regardless of how long and what setting the Pulse was on it just couldn’t bring me to orgasm with it on my frenulum, Maybe if I had kept at it I could have but after the 50 minute mark I gave up on that endeavour. Same as the Cobra Libre the pattern settings really didn’t do anything for me and to add to that the patterns on the Pulse II Solo  seemed really rough around the edges, The word that comes to mind in trying to describe them is jarring but I feel that is a bit harsh. Although the Pulse II Solo couldn’t get me off in the regular orientation if I turned the toy around so that the raised plate was on the top of my glans it turned into a totally different toy for me. With the Pulse in the new position  it went from 50 minutes without much response to having to fend of climaxing after only a minute or two,  And the orgasms are extremely powerful once you do decide to give in. Orgasms with the Pulse  come on extremely fast and extremely strong making it a perfect toy to practice edging or if you’re just looking to get off quickly and still have a satisfying orgasm. Often I found myself reaching for the Pulse to have a second or third orgasm with because the sensations were so intense, Refractory period be damned this thing will get the job done! Due to the Pulse being waterproof (with reservations) clean up is easy, a rinse under the tap or a wipe down with a wet cloth should have it looking near new again.

Pulse II On Dildo

Black&White conversion makes everything artsy!…Everything.

Conclusions – Hot Octopuss Pulse II Solo

The Pulse II Solo by Hot Octopuss has received near blanket approval from the community and you’re not going to hear much different from me, It’s an extremely well-built toy that offers an extremely pleasurable experience. The only truly disappointing thing about the Pulse was how loud the thing is! I live in close proximity to other people and definitely couldn’t use it without people hearing or being worried that people would hear the entire time,  If discretion is key for you I would have to recommend passing on the Pulse II Solo. Noise levels aside everything else about the Pulse II Solo is a hit! $99 USD is a great price for a rechargeable and waterproof toy  that delivers extremely potent orgasms in record time, If noise isn’t an issue and you feel like trying something new the Pulse II Solo gets my top vote. You can pick up the Pulse II Solo directly from Hot Octopuss here or at your favourite online retailer!

Review: Tantus Super Soft C-Ring

Tantus time once again with my first ever foray into the world of cock rings!

Packaging

The Super Soft C-Ring comes in a very simple snap open plastic clam shell packaging, In typical Tantus fashion the toy is prominently displayed in the packaging and the design is simple and tasteful, Kudos Tantus.

Overview

The C-Ring is made from Tantus’s wonderful 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone which in this case is velvety and smooth as well as extremely pliable and stretchy. Tantus lists the unstretched  diameter as 3.8cm and the stretched diameter at 12cm. Matte silicone seems to always be a dust magnet and the C-Ring is no different its near impossible to keep it dust free but a quick wipe down with some water is a quick remedy. The C-Ring is quite thick and sturdy and should last you a very long time.

In Use

Due to the stretchy nature of the C-Ring it’s extremely easy to stretch over your cock and balls even without any lubrication and it rests quite comfortably once it’s there, Sadly for me the comfort was very short lived as I could only wear the C-Ring for about 5 minutes before I felt like it was crushing me.  While I don’t have experience with any other cock rings my discomfort might be due to my slightly above average girth or it could simply be that I am unaccustomed to being restricted, Either way after many attempts the discomfort sadly did not go away. Although I couldn’t wear the C-Ring for very long in the short time that I could wear it I could definitely see why people enjoy using them! Seeing yourself engorged with your cock at full attention is really a big turn on, Veins that were previously invisible or barely there now stand proud and really make your cock look different than what you’re used too. Luckily all was not lose with the Tantus C-ring as I found another use for it that I really quite enjoy, I tried using the ring on just my cock but that did almost nothing, However I found that just pulling my testes through and leaving the ring cinched up right against my testes was a very pleasurable experience, It offers a nice pulling/stretching sensation . Due to my limited ability to wear the the C-Ring for an extended period of time I can’t comment on if it prolonged or extended my orgasms but with it wrapped around my scrotum it was definitely pleasurable during orgasm, I could feel my scrotum contracting and fighting the mild restriction that the C-Ring was offering – Not mind blowing but great for mixing up my masturbation sessions.

Conclusion

The Tantus Super Soft C-Ring even though I couldn’t use it as intended is still a great product, It’s extremely well built in typical Tantus fashion and it should offer a comfortable fit for most people. The thing I can’t get over though is just how inexpensive this thing is!  Tantus is offering the Super Soft C-Ring for only $10.46 which for a premium silicone product is incredibly good value, If you’re interested in trying out cock rings or you know you like them and are wanting a good quality new ring to try out check out the Tantus Super Soft C-Ring! Review: Tenga 3D Zen

It’s a sculpture…It’s an art piece…It’s a sex toy? This is the Zen from Tenga’s 3D line of masturbation sleeves that look more like modern art then something you should be wrapping around your cock. But who’s to say that it can’t be both art and a great sex toy?

Overview

The Tenga 3D Zen is a masturbation sleeve about 12cm in length and 5cm in diameter. Tenga labels the material it’s made from as “Ag Antibacterial Elastomer” which doesn’t tell you a whole lot other than it contains silver, It is definitely porous but certified antibacterial so it should be safe in the long-term – I wouldn’t be sharing it with a partner though. The material is super soft and stretchy with a silky feel to it, Though it can feel a bit thin and fragile at times. Other reviewers have mentioned that their Tenga 3D’s didn’t have much of a smell to them but mine had a very strong chemical odor to it when I opened it, After a wash it immediately went away but I felt it was worth noting. Texture wise the Zen is meant to look like the lines in a zen garden, Lines start off spread farther apart and spiral in closer together towards the middle and back out again.

Packaging

Tenga  really did an amazing job when it comes to the packaging on the 3D line.  All of the Tenga 3D sleeves come perched on a black plastic pedestal with a clear cover to protect the toy from being bumped around, It manages to protect the toy, look really classy and serve as a place to dry the toy when you’re done with the clean-up. Underneath the stand is a small compartment that contains a packet of Tenga’s own eloquently named “Hole Lotion” lubricant which contains enough for one use. It’s a wonderful and well thought out package and I wish more companies would put this much effort into the packaging. Upon unpacking my zen I noticed that it had quite a few imperfections in the texture, Most likely from air bubbles when they poured the material, While this didn’t impact the use of the toy at all it was a bit disheartening to see that gorgeous pattern with so many imperfections.

In Use

Before you can use the Zen or any other product from Tenga’s 3D line you have to turn it inside out so that the texture is on the inside. I found the Zen to be a little lube hungry, Due to all the fine little ridges and valleys it takes a fair bit of lube to get the whole thing slick. Once you have yourself inserted the texture is immediately apparent, The only way I can describe the sensation of the texture in use is gentle but intense. You don’t feel any of the individual ridges in the texture, The material is too soft and the ridges are too close together instead you just get a wonderful and enveloping intense sensation. Due to the way the 3D line is designed when you first insert yourself into the toy it tends to trap a little pocket of air inside the toy, By squeezing the tip of the toy you can force the air out of the sleeve and increase the suction inside. Because the 3D doesn’t have any sort of hard outer casing like Fleshlights or Tenga’s Flip Hole you can simply squeeze the sleeve to increase or decrease the pressure. Orgasms while using the Zen are intense, I have to stop any movement at all once the orgasms starts otherwise its just way to much stimulation and starts to turn into discomfort bordering on pain.

Cleanup with the Zen is extremely easy, When you are done with the toy you can stand it upright inside the base of the stand, A quick rinse with water while turning the Zen inside out and a quick pat-down with a lint free cloth is all you should need. Once the Zen has been washed off you can put it back onto the wonderful little stand that it comes with to dry. If the sleeve starts to get sticky after several uses just give it a quick powdering with some corn starch and that should go away.

Conclusion

The Tenga 3D Zen is a great little masturbation sleeve. It’s easy to clean, Comes with a wonderful little stand system built into the packaging and of course it feels great! Tenga says the Zen is designed to last for around 50 uses if taken care of properly, While I’m sure it could last longer with the retail price of around $49.99 CDN it is a little disappointing because you’re going to want to use this toy – A lot. If you’re looking for a great masturbation sleeve that doesn’t look like a masturbation sleeve the Zen is a great choice as long as you don’t mind paying $50 for a sleeve that you are eventually going to have to toss. You can find the Tenga 3D Zen at most online retailers.

Review: Tantus Ripple (Small)

It’s Tantus time again! This time I’ve got my hands on the small version of Tantus’s Ripple anal probe. The Ripple may be small in stature and unassuming in appearance but let’s not forget this is made by Tantus, So let’s find out if the Ripple probes all the right places or prods in all the wrong ones.

Packaging

Normally the Ripple would come in Tantus’s clear plastic packaging that shows off the toy in a clean and tasteful fashion but I received the Ripple through the Tantus grab bag program which ships in non standard packaging, The grab bag packaging is a simple clear plastic bag closed at the top with a cardboard Tantus logo and a few staples – Simple but effective.

Overview

The Ripple a cute looking thing isn’t it? It stands 12.6cm tall and 2.5cm in diameter at its widest point. The ripple is made from Tantus’s 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone which means it’s totally body safe and extremely easy to take care of, The silicone Tantus uses is quite firm and the Ripple is made from that same silicone but due to its diminutive size it has quite a bit of give and flexibility to it – More than enough to bend back on itself. The Ripples main features are the 4 rounded bead like protrusions on the shaft which starts out at a very beginner friendly 1.75cm diameter and works its way up to very comfortable 2.5cm diameter. The base is nice and thick and is very easy and comfortable to hold on to and has the recognizable Tantus logo etched into the silicone.

In use

Once you have the Ripple all lubed up with your favourite water based lube insertion is fairly easy due to the extremely small tip of the toy. You may need to hold the toy close to the tip for initial insertion because the end has a tendency to want to bend out-of-the-way rather than go where you want it. Originally I thought that it would take a while to work up to the largest bulge after inserting it but much to my surprise with a little pressure I was at the base in no time, When fully inserted my butt barely noticed that the Ripple was even there. The shaft towards the base didn’t have enough of a size difference between itself and the largest bulb for it to stay seated, But in my humble opinion the Ripple wasn’t meant for long-term wear or being a filling plug – It was meant for thrusting. Thrusting with this toy is extremely pleasurable, It doesn’t poke at your prostate if you’re equipped with one or give you an immense sense of fullness all it does it make your butt feel really good, When thrusting  it produces this wonderful almost electric sensation that spreads from your anus to the rest of your body. Slow thrusts offer a mild popping sensation akin to using anal beads but less intense, Fast thrusts cause you to skip across the widest section of the beads and gives a rapid “on/off” sensation as you move between each bead.

While using the Ripple is a pleasurable experience I very quickly found myself wanting something larger, The Ripple is often the first toy of the night for me and it’s almost sad that doesn’t get more playtime and is mostly used for a warm-up toy. I can’t help but feeling that the Ripple large would have been a more fitting choice or maybe if the small had one more bead of a larger diameter it would be more satisfying.

Conclusions

The Tantus Ripple is a great toy that manages to pack a ton of pleasure into a small package but those who have a lot of anal experience or enjoy large toys may want to look at the large Ripple instead. If you are looking for a good toy for exploring anal play or just want something on the smaller side to play with the Tantus Ripple is a fantastic option. You can buy the Ripple directly from Tantus at the link below or at your favourite retailer.
